The Gate Restaurant review

With three branches in London, The Gate is a great place to go for a long catch up with friends, whilst enjoying vegetarian and vegan food.

I visited the Angel branch for lunch with my sister and we both agreed it had a nice relaxing ambience and lots of light. They have a £15 for two course lunch offer, where you can choose from a range of starters, mains and desserts. 



We both opted for the sweet potato chickpea burger with a slice of vegan cheese and polenta chips. The burger was seasoned well and was very filling. The crispy polenta chips only came in a portion of three and had a corn-like taste, very similar to tortilla chips. I think they would have been more enjoyable with some tomato salsa.


For dessert I chose the Brownie with Chantilly cream and my sister went for the Pear and Walnut tart with Chantilly cream. I was pleasantly surprised by the size of the brownie, as I was expecting a tiny slice. Although, it was a generous portion, it was more like chocolate cake than brownie b…
