Bó Drake

Bó Drake is a Asian fusion restaurant, serving a mixture of Japanese, Korean and Chinese food. Being a Timeout Black cardholder is definitely worthwhile if you love events and offers. It entitles you to 50% off at some of their favourite restaurants - including Bó Drake. Having featured them in the weekly magazine I design, I couldn't wait to visit.

For starters we chose Deep Fried Baby Squid and Pork Belly Bao. Served in two steamed buns, (which look like they have been lightly torched on the outside) their Pork Belly Bao are the most delectable things on the menu. Sprinkled with spring onions and crushed peanuts, the pork belly was tender and well cooked. I was impressed with the portion size as I didn't expect it to be served as one whole piece. Definitely a must try!

I also really enjoyed their Squid. Served in cute, little crunchy rings and seasoned with a vibrant spice, it went really well with a squeeze of lime. It was still just as tasty without the dip.
I don't norm…

Aster Café

Working alongside a Concierge & Lifestyle company certainly has its pros when it comes to restaurants. As I design their weekly magazine, I get to see adverts firsthand. This week was a promotional offer for 50% off food and drink at Aster Café. Located in Victoria, they serve Nordic food with a French twist.

Upon arrival, we were greeted by multiple staff and each one passed us on to another member of staff, who were all friendly but I think six people is a bit excessive.
With lowly-lit lighting and mellow music, it creates a great atmosphere for an intimate date or catch up. Although they do not have an allergens menu, your waiter/waitress will be happy to help with any dietary requirements.
Aster have a great selection of tipples but we tried their two non-alcoholic cocktails:
No way - Matcha tea syrup, fresh basil, lime juice, topped with road water.
This drink reminded me of Japan with it's slightly diluted matcha taste. It was just the right sweetness and refreshing.
