VegFest 2016

After being to my very first one last year, I was excited to go to VegFest again!
For those who haven't heard of VegFest before - it's a vegan friendly event where lots of different brands are all under one roof in Olympia! You'll usually find lots of great offers just for that weekend only.
This year there were lots of new brands I hadn't seen before and ones of which I am a regular customer so it was great to see some familiar faces :)
One of my those familiar faces was Neil from Aquapax!
Our current generation is at risk of being affected by unseen chemicals used to make bottled water, which is then transferred into our body. To continue my birthday celebration, Ken booked a table at Tredwell's for dinner. Coinciding with London Restaurant Week, there was an offer on - £28 for 3 courses, a glass of fizz and chocolates to take home. 

After looking at the set menu, there wasn't much I was able to eat as it mostly contained dairy and egg. I liked how each dish had a key of the allergens it contained making it very easy to identify what was suitable. The manager Nicole was super helpful and was able to make alterations to certain dishes as well as swap them out for something on the a la carte menu! 

We started our meal with a glass of Grey Goose Mint & Chamomile Fizz. The non-alcoholic alternative tasted very much like celery and even came with a celery stick inside the glass.

For starters, I went for the Harissa glazed aubergine, peanuts, coriander and chilli which was cooked perfectly. The soft and mildly spiced aubergine went so well with the contrasting crunchy pieces of peanuts. It…


For our team night out, TOZI kindly hosted Privée Concierge for dinner and it was fantastic!

We dined like Italian royalty at Tozi with tapas-style sharing dishes from their chichetti menu. With a platter of cured meats including mortadella, salami and thinly sliced, 24 months aged parma ham, it was a great start to the meal. 
For mains, I'd recommend the tenderly cooked rabbit served with artichokes, thyme and aldente maccheroni followed by grilled baby chicken with crispy, golden roast potatoes. If you have room for more, Tozi offer a selection of hot and cold desserts including their indulgent pistachio tiramisu to a lighter and refreshing basil and lime sorbet. Delizioso!

For those who like their tipple, Tozi have a great range of alcoholic beverages. Can't decide? Their friendly staff will be more than happy to recommend a drink to your tastes.

Vegan Afternoon Tea - La Suite West

To celebrate my birthday, I wanted to go for my first vegan afternoon tea. With a tempting menu and an even more tempting price at La Suite West, I was looking forward to sinking my teeth into some sweet treats.

Being a Friday lunchtime, it was nice and quiet so we could choose where we wanted to sit. The outdoor seating area is great for photos but be warned, wasps may appear.
First to arrive were the 5 different types of finger sandwiches:

I was very surprised that my favourite was the lemon and thyme tahini. Although it was very simple, it just had so much flavour where the others lacked it. I found the bread to be quite dry - probably due to being prepared overnight or left out for too long. I wish we could have requested for more sandwiches to balance out the sugar overload which was next..
